Balanced Places
From a position of balance, everything develops in a balanced way
Ever thought about how strong trees bend in the wind? Ever thought about how deep they need to have their roots in the ground but also how equally important it is for them to be able to be flexible so their branches don’t snap when the strong winds arrive.
Perhaps this thought has come to me today as we in Spain have had hurricane type winds here recently.
But I’m sure it’s more than that and I’m sure there’s a fantastic lesson in this for us all.
WHAT WOULD THE LESSON BE FOR YOU?
For me it’s got something to do with being tired of having to get up again and rebuild after being knocked down by life’s hurricanes.
It’s got something to do with finding my internal balance in order to withstand those winds when they arrive. And not just that, but also discovering ways of learning from them instead of simply being victim to them.
One thing’s for sure, life is going to throw and keep throwing you difficult balls which are challenging to catch, the trick is finding and using your own resourcefulness to catch and run with them.
Next time it happens, ask yourself this.
NOW THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED, WHAT AM I THINKING?
IS THAT THOUGHT BLAMING ANYONE OR ANYTHING?
IF I TOOK THAT BLAME AWAY WHAT QUESTION WOULD I ASK MYSELF NEXT?
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY FOR GROWTH HERE?
WHAT IS THE SITUATION TELLING ME ABOUT MYSELF?
And you know, the next thing I tell myself is, I take 100% RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SITUATION, because you know, I’m sick of falling down time after time and having to get up again. Next storm that comes along will be my teacher, my companion, my support.
